Desert Edge Sport Horses

About Us

Shani Mihalich:
Hello, my name is Shani. I began my love for horses with my parents Bev and Nile Mason of Thorpe Mountain Morgans. I have been professionally training horses for 26 years and have been riding and showing since I was six. I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing horses over the years. With a lot of hard work and dedication, I was fortunate enough to win a National Title in Carriage Driving Dressage, as well as Reserve World Champion in Morgan Heritage Driving Classes. Horses have truly been a labor of love for me over the years. I have learned from the very best over the years, including CeCe Green of Greentree Morgans, Bill Long and Larry Poulin. My love of horses come only second to my family. I have been lucky enough to have an amazing husband of 23 years and a great daughter who have been by my side as well as partners in business.

Bud Mihalich:
Hello, my name is Bud. I’ve been truly blessed to be able to work with my great family, and some amazing horses over the last 30 years. While my lovely wife and daughter enjoy the show ring, I’m more content with my drafts and a plow. It has been a labor of love for our equine family that makes for our success.

Tiana Mihalich:
Hello, my name is Tiana. I have been around horses since before I could walk. I am currently a student at Colorado Mesa University, majoring in Criminal Justice, minoring in business and music. I play the Double Bass with the local Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra as well as in the Colorado Mesa University Symphony Orchestra. With the help of my loving mother I have trained my horse up to successfully compete at first level at a USDF sanctioned show, I cannot wait to see how my horse and I can continue to grow and we continue competing in the dressage world. I look forward to up-holding my family’s tradition of being successful horse trainers and competitors on a National and World level.
